Description
Staub: the best option for your cast iron cocottes
Staub was born in 1974 in Alsace, a region of France rich in history and with a renowned gastronomic tradition. The company's products are today appreciated by chefs all over the world and, in just over 40 years of history, Staub has become the reference brand in France and around the world for cooking with cast iron utensils.
Each product is the result of a manufacturing process still marked by the dogmas of tradition. Furthermore, each piece is absolutely unique, being cast in a form of silica sand which is then destroyed. Attention to tradition has not, however, prevented Staub from vigorously innovating cast iron cooking methods. The lids designed by Staub , for example, are designed with small hemispheres which facilitate the recycling of the water evaporated during cooking which does not escape from the cocotte, keeping all the aromas inside and is redistributed equally throughout the dish. Cocottes are ideal for sealing and slowly cooking meat, fish or vegetables . For a juicy and tender cooking result thanks to the lid.
5 excellent reasons to choose Staub cast iron:
- A cuisine of well-being and pleasure: the meat remains tender, the vegetables soft... In the Staub cocottes the aromas and flavors develop all their intensity and the nutritional qualities are preserved to the maximum.
- The secrets of the Staub lid: the Staub flat lid has been designed to hermetically close the cocotte, creating a "rain effect" inside the cast iron which allows food to remain tender and retain an intense flavour. The rain effect of Staub lids, which can be enhanced by using ice cubes on the lid, distributes humidity evenly unlike competitors who release humidity near the edges of the pan.
- The advantages of enamelled cast iron: cast iron is one of the most capable of retaining heat, diffusing it slowly and distributing it in a completely homogeneous way. When cast iron is hot, its heat retention properties allow you to lower the flame to a minimum, for slow cooking while limiting energy consumption to a minimum.
- Internal verified rough matt black enamel: the multi-layer enamel consists mainly of glass and guarantees an extremely resistant and particularly long-lasting surface.
- Fascinating colors of cast iron: thanks to the traditional process of manufacturing cast iron and the subsequent enamelling obtained with innovative techniques, fascinating colors are obtained that allow it to pass with elegance from the kitchen to the table.
- Suitable for all types of hobs , including induction , it can also be used in the oven/grill
