Description
Technical features
USE ON FLAME
Before initial use, soak the terracotta saucepan in warm water for at least 12 hours and allow to dry by turning over.
The normal absorption (transudation) of water in the bottom of the pots due to the porosity of the terracotta will preserve the object during cooking.
If taken from the fridge, wait for it to reach room temperature before using it over the heat.
It is advisable to cook food over low heat; light the fire at low speed and raise the flame gradually. If possible use a flame diffuser to avoid overheating and potential breakage.
Do not heat the terracotta casserole when empty.
Avoid placing hot terracotta on cold surfaces.
With use, the glaze may crack and this is a characteristic of terracotta and not a defect of the product.
After use, wash with hot water and detergent, preferably in the dishwasher and allow to air dry by turning it upside down before storing.
OVEN SAFE
Table Top's terracotta products are oven-safe up to 300ºC.
Avoid placing the hot crock on cold surfaces.
MICROWAVE SAFE
Table Top's earthenware products contain no metal and are safe for use in the microwave.
Make sure there is enough room to turn on the microwave plate (including the handles).
DISHWASHER SAFE
Table Top earthenware products are dishwasher safe.
Let the crock dry well before putting it back in the furniture, as it will have absorbed water during the washing.
READY TO SERVE
Since the glaze is cut resistant, the terracotta casserole can be used for serving directly on the table.
FREEZER FRIENDLY
Terracotta can be stored in the freezer. Make sure it has reached room temperature before reheating.
